If you can’t help, do no harm.
Being chronically ill is overwhelming and all consuming, The last thing
needed is your judgement, your commentary, or your criticism. Neither
is, comments like, It’s not that bad, you not trying to get better, it’s all in
your mind, or you’re lazy, needed. What‘s needed is your prayers, love in
action, some food and kindness. If you have to make these comments
and devalue another person‘s suffering your presence isn’t needed. Words can help, or they can hurt and affect people mentally, which affect
people physically. Remember your struggle might not be a chronic
illness, but you will still want prayers love and kindness, for whatever
struggle you have.
